Mishawaka Marian Knights’s bats were strong against Concord on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough as Mishawaka Marian Knights fell 11-6.
Mishawaka Marian Knights opened up scoring in the first inning, when a sacrifice bunt by Anna Gruber scored one run for Mishawaka Marian Knights.
Concord evened things up at three in the top of the second inning. Alysa Marcin singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Concord pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Zoey Stender singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs, Marcin drew a walk, scoring one run, and Makenna Carrington drew a walk, scoring one run.
Alexis Kern was in the pitcher’s circle for Concord. She surrendered five runs on five hits over six innings, striking out four.
Maggie Pfaller was on the rubber for Mishawaka Marian Knights. She surrendered seven runs on six hits over two and a third innings, striking out one. Olivia Whitaker threw four and two-thirds innings in relief.
