Knights News · Softball – Senior Salute

As we hit the week of Baccalaureate and Graduation for our Marian High School Seniors, we take a look at Softball’s two seniors.
Anna has committed to play softball at Saint Mary’s where she plans to study nursing and hopes to one day work in the NICU.  During her time at Marian, where she pitched, played Shortstop and Third, she was a career .381 hitter.  Her efforts during her Junior Year earned her NIC Honorable Mention.  Her accomplishments were not limited to the softball diamond however.  In the Marian hallways, she was a member of National Honor Society and a Spirit Night Captain for the Blue Team.  In her community she was a member of the Mishawaka Mayor’s Youth Council and a Softball Coach at Mishawaka Catholic.  Anna was also awarded the Madeleva Scholarship at St. Mary’s.

Grace started playing t-ball at Southeast little league when she was 5 years old and continued every year through middle school.  She was on two all star teams, one of those teams won State.  She started playing on a travel team when she was 8 years old.  She played year round until she was 16.  Grace played softball for Marian HS Freshman yr- Junior yr. and was very disappointed that her Senior year was canceled. She enjoyed every year on the Marian team and cherished all the friendships she made.  Her favorite memory was during a practice hitting game and she made 25 points for her team by hitting a home run.  Grace is attending Ivy Tech next year studying Environmental Engineering.
