Knights News · Marian has its new Volleyball Coach

Mark Nowak has returned to Marian High School to become its 6th Volleyball coach in program history.

Mark is a graduate from Marycrest International University, where he was a four-time All-American.  He helped lead his team to Nationals four years in a row.  During that time he was also honored to represent the United States in the ARAFURA Games in Australia, where his team took bronze.

Mr. Nowak graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.  He then went on to achieve two more degrees with a Masters in the Art of Teaching and a Masters in Building Level Administration.  He has spent his whole career in elementary education; 16 years in Edwardsburg and the past two in Elkhart.

Upon his graduation, Nowak became an assistant with the Marian Knights from 2001-2011.  In 2011, he welcomed his first child into the world.  He and his wife, Kate Nowak, have two wonderful children; Bennett, age 8 and Lizzie, age 7.

Mark and his family are members of St. Pius X parish.  For the past eight years, he has officiated college level volleyball.  His love for the game has led him back to Marian.
