Knights News · Class of 2018 leaves lasting Legacy

On November 6th, the Class of 2018 accomplished something no other class in Marian High School history had every achieved.  As the clock hit 0:00 on that Friday night, the Marian Seniors assured that they would finish their football careers having never lost a Sectional game when they defeated Maconaquah 35-7.

The Knights would fall short the next week at Bishop Luers on a frigid night and a muddy field, but not before winning eight games and claiming a share of the NIC-South division.  In a season that saw Reggie Glon, the all-time leader in wins at Marian step into an assistant coaching role to allow Michael Davidson to take the helm, the Class of 2018 made sure that the new head coach would begin his career as a division and sectional champ.

Not only did the team take home some hardware from the season, but several also earned individual accolades.  Seniors Paul Cline, Zach Whitfield, Michael Gibson, John Brach, Kelwyn Hemingway, and Trelin Markham all earned All-NIC Honors.  Juniors Alec Mishler, Miguel Ortiz, Michael Schnippel, Hunter Renner, Thomas Ewing and Mitchell Floran also earned conference honors.
