Knights News · Volleyball looking for Three-Peat

The 2018 Varsity Volleyball team is very mature this year.  Named team captains, Seniors Chloe Lentych and Bella Ravotto will look to provide veteran leadership to an already veteran team that boasts nine seniors. “We are excited we have such a large senior class to show the ropes to the freshman and JV teams.”  Head coach Dan Anderson said, “State is always our goal but we would love to be repeat as Regional Champs in the 2018 season.”

Senior Libero Chloe Lentych is the leader of the back row. Her ability to read the ball and her speed will make it hard for any opponent to get a kill or ace. At her side is Kathryn Verslype, who will provide back row assistance. The team has many versatile players that are more than capable of playing all around.

Talia Thornton is making her varsity debut as the only setter. She is coming in locked, loaded, and ready to direct the pace and plays of the offense. The leading attacker, Bella Ravotto, is looking great and ready for her 4th varsity season.  The Knights have an abundance of hitters.  The middles Ally Kovatch who played right side and middle last year on varsity and Maddie Buysse who is a very hard worker and dedicated to her role. Lexie Hester is a very ambitious attacker. She is ready to step up where ever needed, in the middle or the outside. Kate Cseh and Marisa Plagens are also talented flexible hitters, they’re always ready for the outside or right side attacks. Rounding out the roster is Hanna Brenner, a very skilled right side blocker.

“Overall, we are very excited for this season! All of our girls are looking great and have such a positive attitude for the upcoming season. We have many strengths leading into the year, but we are a focused, hardworking team ready to bring some heat into our 2018 season!” added Anderson
