Last opponent of the day

Game Recap

Ok…. not sure WHAT time we actually played, as the day dragged on a bit, but Marian JV lost in two sets to a very good, strong hitting team from Crown Point, In.. Their girls were quick, tall, and very well-disciplined on attacks. The first set saw the Marian JV girls trading point for point until around 10, each, and then we got slightly off track. The first set’s scores were not truly indicative of how well our girls played. We got LOTS of good touches on blocks, with a couple of well times kills tossed in.
The second set caught us a bit of-pace, with some tentative swings from our side. Our bench LAUNCHED into an amazingly loud support crew and brought the girls back into it. The pace was a bit fast for our girls, and with the use of both timeouts, we settled into what was an absolutely amazing surge at, get this; 16-24….. our girls did just about everything right to rattle the Crown Point girls, and get to 22-24 before the opposition had and an explosive kill from their outside.
We went out strong. I can not say enough about how hard these girls tried all year, putting outrageous efforts into mismatched battles, size-wise. It was a heck of a year, with all of the 15 members of Marian’s JV squad never quitting.
This will be the last post of the year for our JV girls…. I’d like to give a very special “Thank You !” to each and every one of the fine, young ladies AND their VERY supportive parents!!!
Good job, girls!
