Game Recap

The Marian Knights rebounded from a lopsided loss to defeat Lake Central 2-1 in dramatic fashion. Lake Central scored just 9 minutes into the game on a great individual effort by Iowa commit Adrianna Naumoski. Marian almost equalized twice 15 minutes later only to be stopped first by an excellent save by the keeper and then a ball cleared off the line. The Knights slowly took control of the second and and finally tied the score with 10 minutes left. Junior Francie Hartnagel took the ball at midfield and went on to beat 3 Lake Central defenders before burying the ball in the far corner. With all the momentum, The Knights continued to push the play and with just 3 minutes left, Senior Caroline Baughman served a heart ball far post where fellow senior Milah Young headed home the game winner.
The game ended with a great 1v1 save by Senior Hannah Harry-Shade.

The win evens the Knights record at 2-2-1 and will visit the top team in the Nation Monday at Penn High Schoo.
